21-23 March 2012
The workshop brought together carefully selected low emission development leaders from around the world to share experiences and explore opportunities to enhance coordination on LEDS globally. The workshop goals were to:
- Convene low emissions development and low carbon growth decision-makers
- Promote South-South and North-South collaboration and exchange
- Inform on-going national LEDS program development
- Develop a shared vision and path forward for the LEDS Global Partnership
The LEDS Collaboration in Action workshop was convened and co-sponsored by a steering committee of LEDS Global Partnership members including Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF), Climate and Development Knowledge Network (CDKN), Coordinated Low Emissions Assistance Network (CLEAN), Department for International Development (DFID), European Climate Foundation (ECF), Government of Colombia, Government of Mexico, United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), U.S. Government, U.S. National Renewable Energy Laboratory, The World Bank and World Resources Institute (WRI). This workshop is funded by CDKN, CIFF and the U.S. Government. The workshop was co-hosted by CDKN and DFID in the UK.
The workshop was an initiative of the LEDS Global Partnership, founded to advance low emissions development through coordination, information exchange, and cooperation among programs and countries working to advance low emissions development. Launched in early 2011, the partnership currently brings together more than 30 governmental and international institutions.
