Sentosa Boardwalk Tidal Site
The Sentosa Boardwalk Tidal Site was first established in 2013 by the Energy Research Institute at Nanyang Technological University (ERI@N) and Sentosa Development Corporation (SDC) which is a statutory board under the Ministry of Trade and Industry of the Government of Singapore. ERI@N still manages the site today and has since added additional infrastructure such as a test berth attached directly to the boardwalk for deployments as well as a floating catamaran for convenient deployment into the water farther from the boardwalk. The test site is tied directly the boardwalk grid and powers the streetlights across its length. The site takes advantage of the narrow channel between Sentosa Island and mainland Singapore and the constriction of the created by the board walk to generate current speeds which can vary from 0.1 and 1.2 m/s in a day.
