Magnetostrictive Wave Energy Harvester at Isle of Shoals
In 2013 Oscilla Power deployed a quarter scale version their Magnetostrictive Wave Energy Harvester (MWEH) off the coast of New Hampshire in the Ilse of Shoals. The deployment spanned nine weeks from mid July to mid September. Little or no information is available on the devices performance however interviews indicate the develops believed the device performed well and distinctly from most other typical wave energy converters (WEC) which operate within a narrow band of a sea states wave spectrum as opposed the MWEH's significantly broader utilization.
