The Benchmarking and Energy Saving Tool (BEST) is an Excel-based spreadsheet energy analysis tool developed by Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. BEST is intended "for use by industries to benchmark a plant's energy intensity to 'best practice' and to identify energy-efficiency options that can be implemented."[1] BEST-Cement for China is one application of the tool in the Chinese context.
