Exploration Activity: Well Log Data At North Brawley Geothermal Area (Matlick & Jayne, 2008)
|Exploration Activity Details|
|Location||North Brawley Geothermal Area|
|Exploration Technique||Well Log Data|
|Activity Date||2007 - 2007|
Well log data was collected in exploration wells to analyze and interpret the reservoir conditions for the shallow geothermal reservoir.
Exploration wells for the new power plant began to be drilled in 2007. 5 wells were drilled, they ranged in depth from 967-1372 m and temperatures from 137-186 C. Temperature, pressure, and spinner logs were ran. Data collected from the wells indicated that the geothermal brine was of sufficient temperature and not hyper-saline, thus could be utilized for commercial power generation.
