Exploration Activity: Water Sampling At Waunita Hot Springs Geothermal Area (Carpenter, 1981)

Exploration Activity Details
Location Waunita Hot Springs Geothermal Area
Exploration Technique Water Sampling
Activity Date 1974

Usefulness useful
DOE-funding Unknown

Exploration Basis
The aim of Water sampling by Colorado Geological Survey was to attempt to relate ionic content in these samples to the temperature and nature of a possible geothermal reservoir at depth

Notes
Water samples were collected from the two hot springs, two cold springs, and also from surface water in the upper Hot Springs Creek drainage. Three samples were gathered from each site. Samples were analyzed for components, PH and conductivity (under the supervision of Dr. T. A. Wildman in laboratory).
