United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)
From Open Energy Information
The United Nations Development Programme, headquartered in New York, New York, is the UN's global development network, with people working in 165 countries to help others build a better way of life. The UNDP is engaged in measures to reduce poverty, democratic governance worldwide, crisis prevention and recovery, HIV/AIDS, women's empowerment, and environmental and energy issues.[2]
The UNDP is interested in sustainable development abroad to allow everyone the access to clean natural resources and energy services. The UNDP is engaged at the global, national, and community level to help develop countries' own capacity to deal with these issues.[3]
