This statute declares underground storage of natural gas and liquefied petroleum gas to be in the public interest if it promotes the conservation of natural gas and permits the accumulation of natural gas reserves. Under this statute, a person, partnership, limited liability company, corporation, association, or municipal corporation authorized to transport or distribute natural gas as a public utility within this state for ultimate public use or consumption may exercise the right of eminent domain in certain circumstances. This section also provides other regulations regarding property acquisition for these purposes.
