Web Site: U.S. Energy Mapping System

Abstract
This online mapping tool includes multiple layers locating various energy resources throughout the country. Energy sources can be displayed on geographic, satellite, topographical, and street map options. Many layers have sub-layers that allow a fine level of sorting. The “pipelines and transmission” layer includes the following elements: crude oil pipelines, petroleum product pipelines, HGL pipelines, natural gas inter/intrastate pipelines, and electric transmission lines. This site also includes a description for each map layer and the date maps were updated. Clicking on map icons associated with each layer brings up a snapshot with even further detail on specific locations.
