The Springfield Utility Board offers rebates to customers who purchase qualifying refrigerators, freezers, electric water heaters, and/or clothes washers through their Appliance Rebate Program. To be eligible for this rebate, appliances must be Energy Star rated, or electric water heaters must have a minimum EF value of 0.93. The application form and proof of purchase must be submitted to SUB within 60 days of the product purchase date. The program application form can be found on the program website.
SUB also offers a recycling program for inefficient but functioning refrigerators and freezers. Customers can contact the appliance recycler listed on the program website and they will come and take the old refrigerator or freezer from the customers' home. SUB will then provide the customer with a $25 rebate per fridge/freezer.
