Summary

The Solid Waste Management Program in the Department of Natural Resources regulates the management of solid waste in the state of Missouri. A permit is required prior to the construction or operation of any solid waste processing facility or disposal area. Local Solid Waste Management Districts can be organized in regions of the state; such districts have the authority to enact a solid waste management plan for solid waste disposal in their jurisdictions.
