In order to help replace inefficient HVAC systems, SDG&E contracts with Conservation Services Group, Inc. to provide incentives for installing and maintaining new equipment. Participating contractors assist customers in qualifying for programs, tax credits, and manufacturer promotions for packaged rooftop and split-system HVAC units. To qualify, units must be installed in an eligible business in the San Diego Gas and Electric service area and meet program minimum efficiency requirements.

Premium Tune-up measures include comprehensive tune-ups that incorporate maintenance and inspection protocols, economizer repair or replacement, refrigerant charge testing, condenser coil and evaporator coil cleaning, suction line insulation replacement and condenser fan coil fin combing. In hotel or motel guest rooms, new packaged terminal A/C units receive rebates of $100-$200/ton depending on the EER (10.5-12.4), and hotel units replacing less efficient units still working receive $200/ton. Contact SDG&E for more information including equipment and installation requirements.
