River Falls Municipal Utility (RFMU) offers a variety of rebates to business customers for implementing energy efficient equipment upgrades. Rebates are available for commercial lighting, central AC tune-ups, and custom projects. LED exit signs may also be installed at local businesses through an RFMU initiative. Custom offerings include the Shared Savings incentives, which are capped at $50,000 and may include all new electrical energy-saving or demand-reducing measures. Custom offerings also include the Energy Improvement incentive which may include lighting, HVAC, motors, drives, compressed air, food service equipment, agricultural equipment and specialty measures. Finally, large efficiency projects may be included in the RFP for Energy Efficiency offering, which requires that annual energy consumption be reduced by 100,000 kWh and peak demand be reduced by at least 20 kW during summer months. Consultation and technical services are also provided for qualified new construction and school projects.

All instructions for purchase, installation and submittal of project information must be followed in order to receive rebates. Certain rebates are intended to supplement or match Focus on Energy rebates. Some business incentives request that customers call an RFMU Energy Services Representative for more details. Focus On Energy provides additional rebates which are available to RFMU customers but may not be offered through the utility. Please see the program web site or contact the utility for additional information.
