Look for features that are characteristic of the geothermal producing region not originally seen by imaging the Coso Field using seismic
During December of 1999, approximately 32 miles of seismic data were acquired as part of a detailed seismic investigation undertaken by the US Navy Geothermal Program Office. Data acquisition was designed to make effective use of advanced data processing methods, which include Optim's proprietary nonlinear velocity optimization technique and pre-stack Kirchhoff migration. The velocity models from the 2-D lines were combined to construct a 2.5D velocity model of the Coso geothermal field. Analyses of the 2.5D volume were used to tie together velocity signatures seen along individual 2D lines.
