Mississippi Hydropower Biological Resource Assessment(12-MS)

In Mississippi, the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks (MDWFP) may conduct a biological resource assessment of the proposed hydropower project and issue, to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), either mandatory terms and conditions or a defensible set of recommendations designed to protect, mitigate damage to, and enhance fish and wildlife resources. US Army Corps of Engineers hydropower projects are not exempt from FERC licensing, and therefore are not subject to IDNR mandatory terms and conditions pursuant to section 30(c) of the Federal Power Act.
