Indiana Hydropower Construction & Transportation Permits(6-IN)
In Indiana, a hydropower developer may need to obtain an Oversize/Overweight Permit (“Permit”) from the Indiana Department of Transportation and the Indiana Department of Revenue in order to move a non-divisible oversized or overweight vehicle or load on state roads. I.C. § 9-20-1. In addition, a developer may also need a Construction Site Run-off General Permit from the Indiana Department of Environmental Management or a local Soil and Water Conservation District for storm water discharges from construction activities that disturb one or more acres of land or that are part of a larger common plan of development that will disturb one or more acres of land. 327 I.A.C. §15-5-2(a)(3), Indiana Department of Environmental Management – Storm Water Permitting, Applicability Webpage.
