Federal Hydropower Cultural Resource Assessment(11-FD)
The National Historic Preservation Act requires Federal agencies to consider the adverse effects a hydropower project may have on cultural resources in the project area, and to identify opportunities to mitigate or minimize such effects. A hydropower developer may participate in the federal agency’s cultural resource review. If the proposed project may affect tribal lands or resources, the federal agency and/or developer may also need to consult with the affected Indian tribes.
