Colorado Geothermal Land Use Planning(1-CO)

Land use planning in Colorado is primarily delegated to local governments pursuant to CRS 29-20-101. Planning jurisdictions include 64 counties and 271 incorporated municipalities. Under 29-20-105 planning commissions adopt land use plans called “master” or “comprehensive” plans. Land use plans are required to include a planning element for development of local water resources. CRS 31-23-206(1)(d).
