Each state and territory has designed its own program. Rebates will be available until the state program's funding is exhausted. Be sure to confirm that rebate funds are still available in your state before making purchasing decisions.
Puerto Rico ENERGY STAR Appliance voucher rebates for residential consumers began February 24, 2010. Each municipality has been designated a certain number of vouchers and residents must contact their mayor's office of their municipality for a voucher prior to purchasing the appliance. Residents are encouraged to check the program website and call 1-877-9tuvale as well. Once a resident receives a voucher he/she has 30 days to purchase equipment. The voucher is good for $200 instant rebate on ENERGY STAR air conditioners (room and central), washers, freezers, refrigerators, and water heaters (electric, gas storage, gas tankless, solar-electric backup and solar-gas backup).
