It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation having possession or control of any natural gas well, oil well or coalbed natural gas well, whether as a contractor, owner, lessee, agent or manager, to use or permit the use of gas by direct well pressure. Any person or persons, firm, company or corporation violating any of the provisions of this act shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction shall be fined in any sum not less than $100 or more than ten thousand dollars, and may be enjoined from conveying and transporting natural gas through pipes otherwise than in this act provided. Operators shall notify the commission prior to setting surface casing on or plugging of any well, in conformance with the rules and regulations adopted pursuant to this act. This article also lists regulations for drilling wells and underground storage of gas.
