This numerical model was made in conjunction with a new conceptual model to gain a better understanding of the geothermal reservoir an predict its behavior.
When this model was made the focus has shifted from geology to predicting future reservoir performance. A conceptual model was developed for a numerical model so that flow tests could be interpreted. A large geothermal flow test was performed where there was 6 geothermal wells flowing at once and 8 idle wells being monitored. The conceptual model developed from this flow test was based on well interference data, enthalpy, and basic geology. The numerical model was successful and accurately predicted the behavior of the geothermal reservoir for the first 10 years of its operation. The models were written in an unpublished report to Oxbow Geothermal Corporation.
