the URDB is growing, and will continue to grow with input from ISU

OpenEI's utility rate database has been getting a lot of attention recently. As NREL's feature article on the database states, the tool emphasizes on the power of crowd-sourcing for helping the database have relevant and accurate information. There are currently over 400 rates in the database with more being added each day.

The number of entries in the database is about to get a big boost, thanks to a recent award from the U.S. Department of Energy. Illinois State University won the $850,000 award, funded under the DOE SunShot Initiative, to populate and maintain data in OpenEI’s utility rate database. This effort will vastly increase the comprehensiveness of the database, while ensuring accuracy of all data entries.

Even as this effort is underway, we encourage users to continue contributing rates. To add new rates, or explore existing rates, check out OpenEI’s utility rate database today! Gateway:Utilities
