Nevada Power will also pick up and recycle their customers' old, inefficient refrigerators, and provide a check in the amount of $30 for participating. Nevada power also offers rate restructuring plans for home owners to participate in Cool Credit and Time-Of-Use load management programs. The load management programs offer reduced electricity rates for home-owners agreeing to install a receiver switch on A/C units, allowing utility to suspend use for 10 minutes every 30 minute interval from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. during the months of June to September. Lower rates offer is also extended to those home-owners agreeing to pay higher rates during these peak use periods of summer.
