The Hazardous Waste Program, administered by the Hazardous Waste Management Commission in the Department of Natural Resources, regulates the processing, transportation, and disposal of hazardous and radioactive waste in the state of Missouri. This legislation contains additional information about the classification of hazardous waste, duties of hazardous waste generators and facilities, and the scope of the Commission's authority. A permit is required prior to the construction or operation of any hazardous waste facility. The legislation applies to the shipment of high-level radioactive waste.
