Mercury Vapor At Mokapu Penninsula Area (Thomas, 1986)
Exploration Activity: Mercury Vapor At Mokapu Penninsula Area (Thomas, 1986)
|Exploration Activity Details|
|Location||Mokapu Penninsula Area|
|Exploration Technique||Mercury Vapor|
The high degree of cultural activity (e.g. residential areas, streets, jet runways, etc.) on Mokapu both limited the extent of the soil geochemical surveys performed and rendered their interpretation much more difficult. Soil mercury concentrations and radon emanometry data on the peninsula showed a few localized high values (Figs 13, 14), but no consistent correlation between the anomalous zones and geologic features could be identified (Cox et al., 1982b).
