The Marketers' Certificate of Authority is mandated by the Georgia Public Service Commission (PSC), and is a part of the Natural Gas Competition and Deregulation Act. It requires that any company seeking to distribute natural gas in the state obtain a certificate of authority from the PSC. To obtain a certificate of authority, an applicant must demonstrate to the Commission's satisfaction that it possesses adequate financial and technical capability to sell or offer to sell natural gas within the state.
