Magnetotelluric results indicate deep low resistivity at the western edge of the caldera which may be associated with deep hot fluids. On the basis of geophysical and well data, the authors make three estimates of reservoir dimensions. Telluric profiles, magnetotelluric sounding, DC resistivity, and electromagnetic sounding surveys were all performed over the caldera in hopes of outlining deep drilling targets (Group 7 Inc., 1972; McPhar, 1973; Geonomics Inc., 1976). These data are used to help define the electrical structure in the reservoir region. Some of the data were reinterpreted using K508 computer models, and interpretations from the various surveys were compared for consistency of the subsurface models. The most useful of these data sets were the telluric profile and magnotelluric sounding data since these provide a good penetration depth. Resistivity models were principally constructed from these data with other data used to test the models.
