Exploration Basis
MT profiling was done to explore a hypothesis that fluid circulation at depth of over 10 km is the cause of well temperatures that exceed 280 degrees Celsius
 
Notes
About 140 soundings were collected, centered on the Dixie Valley Geothermal Production Field. The array was orientated WNW-ESE and stretched from the California border to near the town of Eureka in central Nevada, passing through the Dixie Valley Geothermal Field. The array was more dense near the production field. A very large and complex data set was collected. The model created from this data revealed an electrical structure beneath Dixie Valley that could possibly represent a deep hydrothermal source in the lower crust.
