Exploration Basis
The Goals of this survey were to image the subsurface using a resistivity survey then determine if the fault zone is a single range front fault or a shallower stepped pediment and to find fault zone that have experience fluid flux.
A new-generation MT/DC resistivity array system was used to make measurements in the fault zone at the Dixie Valley Geothermal Area. The new array is a magnetotelluric/galvanic (MT/DC) system. Three 6.5-10 km long profiles were done in a contiguous bipole deployment. All the profiles crossed perpendicular to the fault zone. The data is being analyzed using a new inversion algorithm based on stabilization using a-priori constraints.
