TRL 7/8: Open Water System Testing & Demonstration & Operation
Technology Description The Evopod E35 is a 35kW community scale tidal turbine prototype that is being developed for installation in Scotland in late summer 2012 The project value is approximately 1 2 million and will be the first grid connected floating tidal turbine for a community energy scheme The area where it is being installed was environmentally monitored during 2011 as part of the consenting process The unit is being connected into the local supply through a Scottish and Southern Energy SSE grid extension
