Project Details The same PB-40 device was deployed in June 2004, October 2005, and June 2007. Extensive environmental assessment was completed with an objective of demonstrating the applicability of wave power for use at US Navy bases worldwide.

Project Timeline and Milestones •5/1/2004 PowerBuoy 1 was deployed at MCBH for ocean testing
•10/1/2004 PowerBuoy 1 was removed from its ocean test site for upgrade
•10/1/2005 PowerBuoy 1 with upgrades was redeployed at MCBH for ocean testing
•3/1/2006 PowerBuoy 1 was removed from its ocean test site due to problems in the Buoy's main column
•6/1/2008 PowerBuoy 1 was removed from its ocean test site due to problems in the Buoy's main column
•10/1/2008 PowerBuoy 1 was removed from its ocean test site due to problems in the Buoy's main column
•12/1/2009 PowerBuoy 3 was redeployed to continue ocean testing. As of August 24, 2010, this PowerBuoy has completed more than 2.7 million cycles having operated for more than 4,400 hours.
