Leasing Programs

From Open Energy Information

A few electric utilities offer leasing programs for prospective customers in remote areas, especially if the cost of extending electric distribution lines to the customer’s home or facility would be expensive. Through these programs, customers may lease from the utility a system that generates electricity, such as a photovoltaic (PV) system. In some cases, the customer may choose to purchase the system after a specified period of time.cases, the customer may choose to purchase the system after a specified period of time. [1]
