Summary

The construction, reconstruction, recleaning, or repair of a dam, ditch, or other project is prohibited when the action is likely to lower the water level of a public freshwater lake, regulated or otherwise, that covers an area of at least 10 acres. Dredging, mining, or changing of the water level requires a permit from the Department of Natural Resources. Private ponds intended for water cooling before discharge or pollution control are not regulated under this section.
