US-Kazakhstan Energy Partnership

The US-Kazakhstan Energy Partnership is a bilateral initiative developed by US Deputy Secretary of Energy Daniel Poneman and the Republic of Kazakhstan’s Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Sauat Mynbayev. The Partnership provides a framework for collaboration on energy efficiency, clean energy technologies, diversification of energy sources, promotion of regional electric-power trade, nuclear energy and nonproliferation, and improvement of the regulatory environment to facilitate investment in these areas.
