Summary

The Jacksonville City Office of Sustainability Initiatives announced the creation of the Sustainable Building Program through Ordinance 2009-211. As part of the program, the city offers various incentives to builders and developers of homes and businesses. Incentives include:

  • Fast-track development reviews by the Planning Department
  • Designation as a certified sustainable structure
  • Refunds for the cost of obtaining a nationally recognized certification (LEED, Green Globes, or Florida Green Building Coalition)
