Notes
Fumarolic CO2 sampled at Casa Diablo reportedly contained deltaC13 values of -5.6 to -5.7 (Taylor and Gerlach, 1983). DeltaC13 values become systematically more negative to the east of Casa Diablo, suggesting that dissolution of isotopically light carbonate minerals in the host rock occurs as reservoir temperatures decline with progressive mixing with meteoric waters (Winnett and Janik, 1986).
