The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) is a non-profit, inter-governmental organisation, mandated by governments worldwide to promote the widespread and increased adoption and sustainable use of all forms of renewable energy.

Educational systems worldwide are not primed to provide the renewable energy (RE) market with the necessary quality and quantity of skilled workers that are required. Consequently, under the Policy Advisory Services and Capacity Building sub-programme, IRENA developed the IRENA Renewable Energy Learning Partnership (IRELP) portal (www.irelp.org). It was created to meet the growing worldwide demand for skilled renewable energy personnel, especially in developing countries, where they have an important role to play in development and poverty alleviation.

IRELP offers users free access to and information on global RE education and training programmes, RE training materials within the library, a database of webinars and an e-learning platform where students receive support through e-learning lectures and tutorials. IRELP will also provide a knowledge exchange corner (Forum) where professors and renewable energy experts can collaborate to develop renewable energy curricula.

Target groups include scholars, looking to develop and update their renewable energy knowledge; education and training providers; as well as government entities and decision makers.

Interested parties who wish to contribute to IRELP's database may do so by utilising the following links to directly upload and send content to the IRELP Team.
