Summary

The Department of Health and Environmental Control has established a groundwater management program, requiring entities withdrawing in excess of three million gallons during any one month to obtain a permit, register water sources, and report use. The Department is responsible for monitoring and assessing groundwater withdrawals, and for developing a state groundwater management plan.
