Exploration Activity: Ground Gravity Survey At Neal Hot Springs Geothermal Area (U.S. Geothermal Inc., 2007)

Exploration Activity Details
Location Neal Hot Springs Geothermal Area
Exploration Technique Ground Gravity Survey
Activity Date 2006 - 2006

Usefulness useful
DOE-funding Unknown

Exploration Basis
Gravity and Magnetic surveys were done as part of U.S. Geothermal's geophysical program for determining the resource potential at Neal Hot Springs. Data from these surveys will be integrated with older data from Chevron Minerals 1979 drill hole.

Notes
The gravity survey covered an area of approximately 34 km^2 and used 250 gravity stations around Neal Hot Springs. The survey was completed by MWH Geo-Surveys. Interpretations were made by creating a 3D density inversion map. Gravity and magnetic data were used in siting the first production wells at Neal Hot Springs. Gravity and magnetic surveys were the only geophysical techniques completed at Neal Hot Springs prior to drilling the first production wells in 2007.
