Exploration Activity: Geothermometry At Blue Mountain Geothermal Area (Casteel, Et Al., 2010)

Exploration Activity Details
Location Blue Mountain Geothermal Area
Exploration Technique Geothermometry
Activity Date 2010 - 2010

Usefulness useful
DOE-funding Unknown

Exploration Basis
A water and gas geothermometer study was done to help define the reservoir temperature.

Notes
24 different water and gas geothermometers were analyzed. Most of the geothermometers analyzed in this study show that temperatures in the reservoir may exceed 200 C. A Fisher-Tropsch diagram predicts temperatures of 230-240 C for the reservoir fluid. A quartz geothermometer (T-Qtz) predicts temperatures of 213 C.
