An exploration permit is required for any entity conducting geophysical exploration within the state of Montana. Such entities are also required to follow rules adopted by the Board of Oil and Gas Conservation, including those pertaining to:
(a) Adequate identification of seismic exploration crews operating in this state; (b) Areas where seismic exploration and activities may not be allowed; and (c) The plugging and abandonment of seismic shot holes.
