Exploration Basis
This project is being conducted to develop exploration methodology for EGS development. Dixie Valley is being used as a calibration site for the EGS exploration program and multiple studies are being conducted to develop a baseline geothermal system conceptual model. The project is being funded by the U.S. Department of Energy, T=the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, and AltaRock Energy Inc.

Notes
A GIS Database was populated to help develop a conceptual model of the Dixie Valley Geothermal Area. The area for this project was about 50 X 50 km and is centered around the Dixie Valley Power Plant. Baseline EGS favorability/trust maps were created for +1 to -4 km above sea level to identify EGS drilling targets. Pared favorability and trust maps were made to show EGS favorability as well as data reliability. The drilling targets are be based on key EGS parameters: temperature, rock type and stress.
