Exploration Activity: Fluid Inclusion Analysis At Dixie Valley Geothermal Area (Lutz & Moore, 1998)

Exploration Activity Details
Location Dixie Valley Geothermal Area
Exploration Technique Fluid Inclusion Analysis
Activity Date 1998 - 1998

Usefulness useful
DOE-funding Unknown

Exploration Basis
The purpose of this analysis was to document the complex history of rocks and the geothermal system in Dixie Valley.

Notes
The fluid inclusion study was done from cuttings of six geothermal wells in Dixie Valley. Thin sections were made and X-ray diffraction techniques were used. A total of 550 fluid inclusions were analyzed. The study yielded homogenization temperature and apparent salinity information from Jurassic reservoir rocks.
