Flow tests were conducted on the first geothermal production well to confirm the existence of the reservoir.
Flow tests from the first geothermal production well confirm a geothermal reservoir at 697 m. The well was drilled to 703 m, which was 114 m shy of the original drilling target. Drilling stopped shy of the target due to high torque on the drill bit and loss of drilling mud into the formation. Results from the flow tests showed a flowing temperature of 136 C and a flow rate of 76 liters/sec. Estimates from this flow test predict a productivity of 5-6 MW from this well. A second flow test revealed a flowing temperature of 141°C and a flow rate of 130 liters/second confirming the original predictions of a 5-6 MW capability.
