Natel Energy's has designed two hydroEngines for low head in-canal and in-river sites. The Full Flooded (FF) and FreeJet (FJ) are optimal for developments with 2-20m of head.

The FreeJet is can be adapted to generate additional energy by extending the belt length without needing to increase the width of the machine by the same proportion. This allows the FJ to add extra value to projects with limited space for the powerhouse.

How it works: Linear Drive Train

As water flows through the hydroEngine, the blades are driven in linear paths around two parallel shafts. Mechanical energy from the shafts drives a conventional generator. Water enters the penstock, passes through the unit, and exits downstream.
