Dixie Electric Cooperative, a Touchstone Electric Cooperative, is a member-owned electric utility serving approximately 18,000 member-owners in eight Alabama counties including Barbour, Bullock, Lee, Lowndes, Macon, Montgomery, Pike and Tallapoosa. The company's Touchstone Energy® Home Program incorporates 12 energy-saving features into building and remodeling plans. The website offers more details on achieving a Touchstone Energy® Home certification.

Certified homes are eligible for a free electric water heater and a $200 rebate on a geothermal pump.
