Abstract
This paper provides a summary of the drilling operations, flow and injection testing and downhole measurements obtained during the drilling and testing of Deep Blue No.2. This well was sited as a step out to Deep Blue No.1 which measured 145°C at a depth of 645 meters. The maximum temperature recorded in Deep Blue No.2 while drilling was 167.5°C at a depth of 585 meters. Preliminary geothermometry from the short rigon flow test conducted last April 2004 indicated a parent reservoir temperature of 240°C. The results from the November 2004 flow and injection testing indicate that the geothermal waters are less diluted with drilling fluid with a likely parent reservoir temperature of 250°C.
