Cameo generating station
Cameo Station has two operating units that burn low-sulfur coal as their primary fuel and natural gas as their secondary fuel. The coal comes from the McClane Canyon Mine near Mack, Colorado.
Cameo Station began operating in 1957 when Unit 1 went into service. Unit 2 went into service in 1960.
Air emissions are controlled at Cameo Station by baghouses installed on both units. Baghouses act like giant vacuum cleaners, removing more than 99 percent of particulate emissions from the flue gas.
