Summary

The Division of State Development within the Department of Commerce is responsible for the promotion and development of atomic energy in the state, and is authorized to enact relevant rules and regulations. The South Carolina Budget and Control Board may finance projects or lease lands for atomic energy development. The Department of Health and Environmental Control is responsible for the control and regulation of radiation sources that are not licensed by the Federal Government, as well as for the transportation of radioactive materials.
