Asian Institute of Technology (AIT)
The Asian Institute of Technology is an international research university chartered as an inter-governmental organization by a number of states and the United Nations, mandated for “developing highly qualified and committed professionals who can play a leading role in the sustainable development of their countries and the region, accelerating its integration into the global economy”. Established in Bangkok in 1959, AIT imparts world-class learning through its three degree-granting units, namely the School of Engineering and Technology (SET), the School of Environment, Resources & Development, and the School of Management. The fourth unit, AIT Extension, brings together the wide-ranging expertise of the three schools to make it available to governments, peer institutions and business enterprises in over 70 countries in the form of continuing professional education, short-course training and consultancy services.
The faculty members at AIT are well established international experts in their respective fields. In addition to teaching masters' and doctoral students, they continuously conduct research and provide consultancy services and training in national and international development projects.
